The University of Nottingham is a global university and one of the top 100 universities in the world. Establishing the first western campus in China in 2005, we have been activity involved in developing connection to and relationships with China and the US through the Institute for Screen Industries Research, directed by Dr Gianluca Sergi, and the Asia Business Centre directed by Jason Feehily.
These organisations have each been essential and proud parters of the Nottingham Screen Partnership which Gianluca founded in 2013, and the Nottingham International Microfilm Festival. Alongside Nottingham City Council and Nottingham Trent University, The University of Nottingham have been core funders and programmers of the Microfilm Summit taking place during this year’s festival. This summit will be instrumental in drawing industry professionals to Nottingham in order to begin the important conversation about what microfilm is and how we can engage with this film sector here in the UK.
